In 2015 Hassan has granted a PhD degree at the Open University on semantic sentiment analysis of microblogs. His work is published in major conferences and journals (WWW, ISWC, ESWC, ICWSM) and his research has driven the development of novel sentiment analysis technology for several EU funded projects (such as ROBUST and Sense4us).
